He studied at the John McCrady School of Fine and Applied Arts during the late 1960's, in the New Orleans French Quarter, and there learned many of the painting techniques of the Old Masters. His learning continued through the years that followed, and was influenced by other artists, books and works on display in museums. His work has been displayed and sold in the French Quarter since the early 1970's, and since 1996, on this website here on the Internet. Some of his works are available in the form of limited edition reproductions. Stanley has also taught classes in painting and perspective drawing at the St. Bernard Community College, in Chalmette, LA. In addition, he has provided private instruction on a limited basis. In recent years, he has taken his art into the realm of photography, photographing New Orleans, S. E. Louisiana, Mississippi, and other subjects, and offering stock images for licensing. ( Since hurricane Katrina, Stanley has relocated to Brandon, Mississippi, and is no longer painting at the present time, but, who knows. The urge may well return.)
